Meet us for Real Experiences like a local!

Our Philosophy
We believe that the most meaningful travel experiences come from genuine human connection and time spent in places where everyday life still reflects deep cultural traditions. Our mission is to help travelers experience the real Japan beyond crowded cities and famous landmarks, by immersing ourselves in the countryside culture of Kyushu.
Through experience-based tours, we focus on quality over quantity. Rather than rushing from site to site, we create space to slow down, engage with local communities, and understand the spiritual, historical, and culinary roots of the region.
Our philosophy is simple: travel should be personal, respectful, and transformative— leaving you with a deeper appreciation of Japan and the people who call it home.
Our Story

What are the moments that stay with you, after a trip ends?
For us, the biggest travel memories come down to two things: truly experiencing culture in the place where it belongs, and meeting people which means like enjoying the time there together. Whether it’s tasting local food in the region where it was born, or sharing time with people who live there, these moments create a depth of travel that goes far beyond sightseeing.
When we take the time to learn about a destination’s history and culture, and then experience it firsthand—travel becomes very meaningful. Conversations with local people often lead to unexpected discoveries, small joys, and a deeper understanding of everyday life. These are the experiences that quietly enrich our journey and make it unforgettable!
Experiencing Culture Where It Lives
As we traveled throughout Japan, we were struck by how each region—despite being in the same country—has developed its own traditions, shaped by the seasons, nature, and local resources. Even if we understand it intellectually, how we can really feel it is by only seeing the real landscapes, meeting and talking to people, and spending time in each place that the culture truly comes alive.
One of the clearest expressions we thought of this regional identity is Japanese food. Through cuisine, you can feel history, tradition, and a deep connection to the land. Seasonal ingredients, regional cooking techniques, and local flavors all tell a story about where you are. Traveling through Japan reminded us how closely food culture and environment are intertwined—and how powerful it is to experience this connection firsthand.
These simple but genuine moments are what leave a lasting mark on our hearts. We call this “real experience travel”—immersive journeys rooted in place, people, and culture. We believe this kind of travel stays with you for a lifetime.

About Us

My name is Maho. I was born in Japan and spent part of my childhood in the United States due to my father’s work. Raised by travel-loving Japanese parents, I grew up exploring different parts of the U.S., and from an early age, I felt how travel could enrich the heart and broaden perspective.
As an adult, I continued to travel, using my bilingual background to connect across cultures. After meeting my husband, our adventures grew even bigger—During 2024 we traveled together all across Japan. Then in 2025, driven by a deep curiosity for food culture, we traveled up to 32 countries, exploring gastronomy as a way to understand local identity and tradition.
Through these experiences, we gained a deeper appreciation for the cultural differences between Japan and the rest of the world. As a Japanese traveler, I felt a growing desire to share Japan’s culture more meaningfully—especially the unique traditions and values of Kyushu, my family’s hometown. This desire became the beginning of Japan Culture Stay.
The Power of Human Connection
Every memorable journey we’ve taken has been shaped by the people we met along the way. Spending time with locals often led to experiences we could never have planned—sharing meals at small neighborhood restaurants, joining family gatherings, helping out on farms, or simply experiencing everyday life together. These moments of “real life” while traveling are the ones we treasure most.
When traveling abroad, we often hear people say, “Japan is a country I must visit someday,” or “I want to try authentic Japanese food.” Hearing this always fills us with joy. Because we ourselves have been welcomed so warmly around the world, we want to offer that same sense of connection and belonging to those who choose to visit Japan.
Through our immersive cultural tours in Kyushu, we hope to help travelers create meaningful memories—rooted in real experiences, genuine encounters, and the deep culture of Japan’s countryside.

Fascinated by Kyushu Island…
There is something quietly captivating about Kyushu.
In the rhythm of a morning train through the countryside, in the steam rising from a hidden hot spring, and in the warmth of a shared meal at a small local table, Kyushu reveals itself slowly—and deeply.
This is an island where ancient beliefs still shape daily life, where nature and culture exist in gentle balance, which is why Kyushu is said as specially spiritual. Each region offers its own story: sacred shrines in deep forests, timeless temple paths, vibrant street food scenes, and communities that continue traditions passed down for generations.

To travel through Kyushu is to rediscover the real Japan— listening, tasting, and feeling Japan beyond the surface. It is not about seeing more, but about experiencing more, from the bottom of your heart.
If you are drawn to journeys that feel personal, local, and unforgettable, Kyushu may be calling you!
